Alerting features
There are times when you need to know what's going on. Maybe because a fault has been resolved automatically or maybe because manual intervention is required in order to investigate or repair the fault.
To enable this, Sentry-go allows you to configure alerts, triggered based on time and type.
Automatic responses
In many cases, being alerted to a problem early is the best and only course of action. But in others, the initial response may be more obvious and the first thing you would do yourself after being informed.
For example you might delete temporary files to reclaim disk space, terminate a blocking SQL connection, restart a failed service, terminate the running of an unauthorised application.
With Sentry-go, all these, and more are easy to configure.

Key alerting features
When you do need to be informed, Sentry-go gives you plenty of options to choose from - each easy to setup & configure.
You can select one of the preconfigured options, or use custom scripting to define your own.
E-mail
An easy and popular
alerting method allows messages to be sent by e-mail. Messages can include error-specific information, allowing to to pinpoint the issue quickly & easily.
SMS/text message
In today's mobile age, SMS/text messaging is widely available and an ideal way to be informed day or night for more urgent issues. Tailored messages can be sent directly using a GSM modem or using a gateway provider.
Network message
When you're logged on at work, arguably the quickest and easiest way of being informed of a problem is via a network message.
Script or 3rd party app.
Sentry-go comes with a number of script-based alerting methods built-in. For example, you can ...

Alert logging
In addition to alerting, monitors can also log alert information centrally - for example, to a text (CSV) file or ODBC database. Details can then be accessed & imported into other applications such as Microsoft Excel for further analysis.
Alert based on time
Of course some methods are more appropriate at certain times of the day & certain days of the week. Sentry-go can be configured to only send specific types of alert at set times of the week.
Tailored messaging
Alert messages can be customised to send the information you need to see.
Simply enter your text, and add the special placemarkers to include error-based details.
